When can i start working out after widsom teeth extraction?

hey just got my wisdom teeth taken out today... and i was planning on lifting some weights later... but my mom was like NO... wtf... anyone know how long i have to wait so i can start working out and running again?
Answer:
As a dentist I can tell you that I usually recommend that my patients always wait to do ANY strenuous exercise, drink from a straw or smoke for AT LEAST 72 hours after extraction. Any exercise can cause the blood clot that forms in the socket to dislodge causing a dry socket. It is best to wait longer (ie: a week), but after the first 72 hours the chance of a dry socket does decrease considerably. Continue to take any prescribed antibiotics and pain medication (as needed) and after 24 hours following extraction you should begin GENTLE warm salt water rinses to help prevent any infection. Cold compresses will also help reduce swelling and will also help remove minor aches/pain you may have after your extraction. Good luck!
I had mine removed and after 1 day I was back on track.
Whenever you want. It's not like you're harming your teeth or gums.
I wouldn't go out and run a marathon the next day, but you can do what you feel comfortable with. Some people are working construction the day after an extraction. I personally was laid up in my bed for about 2 weeks. Everyone is different, and it's all up to how well you feel.but then again... i didn't pass wreb
one day or less
dont lift wieghts for another day or two the high blood pressure can make it start to bleed again un clot the clot, i work with an oral surgeon..
I would check with your dentist to be sure, but don't over do it too soon. I had my wisdom teeth removed many years ago, but I was young and thought I could get back to normal the next day so I helped a friend move. I don't know if it had anything to do with that or not, but I got what is called "dry socket", and it really hurt. I had to go back to the dentist/surgeon to make sure that the gum area would heal properly. Long story short, take it easy for 2 to 3 days as far as working out goes, but do your other activities as you normally would.

When can i exercise after getting my wisdom teeth taken out?

Answer:
Hello, as a dentist myself I always advise my patients not to smoke, do any type of strenuous exercise or drink using a straw for AT LEAST 72 hours and even longer is of course better as this will give the clot time to form and for your gums to begin to heal. Smoking, drinking from a straw and and strenuous exercise can cause the clot to dislodge and whats known as a "dry socket" will form. Once a dry socket has formed you will find yourself back in your dentists office as this is often more painful than before your procedure. I have had patients who smoked as soon as the same afternoon that I had extracted their wisdom teeth and they ended up back in the office the next day for treatment for dry sockets. Best advice is to take any prescriptions (ie pain medication and antibiotics) that your dentist may have prescribed, try not to smoke or do a lot of exercise for at least 72 hours and just sit back and take it easy. Good luck!
whenever you feel like it ,when it stops bleeding
when the pain goes away !
a day or two after you get it done
Depends on what kind of exercise you do. Don't lift weights until after 48 hrs. Taking a walk is ok. You should be ok to do any exercise after 48 hrs.

When can I eat after extraction?

Answer:
You can eat whatever you feel comfortable eating. Just try to be sure that you don't get any food stuck in the hole! You don't want to drink through straws. And, you probably want to avoid like BBQ sauce and things like that. BesT WisheS!
a nice smoothie or milk shake!
think straws!!
NO STRAWS! I did that after an extraction and I got dry socket. This is a very painful problem that often happens after an extraction. You want the hole to fill up with blood and let it coagulate. The doctor should have given you a list of do's and don'ts. If not, contact him.
You can eat once the bleeding has stopped. It would be good to wait until the numbing has gone away too. If you are still numb and try to eat you could burn or bite your cheeks and tongue.Eat soft foods on the opposite side of your mouth. NO STRAWS! sucking through a straw will dislodge the blood clot which can cause an infection in the bone (dry socket) which is painful

When can I drink alcohol after getting my wisdom teeth removed. Is there anything I need to know?

Just got my bottom two wisdom teeth removed. I'm in a lot of pain and just wondering how long I can expect this. How long until I can drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes etc.
Answer:
DO NOT smoke or drink alcoholic beverages for at least three days follwing your surgery. smoking greatly slows the healing process and is the major cause of dry sockets, a very painful complication.
wait until the bleeding stops to drink( a day or two)... and wait until the wounds are completely healed to smoke.( a week or so)//// you might consider taking this time to quit smoking...
NEVER! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!! SAY NO TO DRUGS AND ALCOHOL!
It F****in' hurts .let it heal fool.
I think that if you are so badly addicted that you cannot wait until your jaw heals to have a drink then you need to spend some time in rehab for alcoholism.
The longer you don't smoke, the better. The nicotine and tar really do a number on the delicate mouth tissues and can interfere in the healing process. Also, don't drink through a straw - doing that and smoking create suction which can dislodge the blood clot that will form in the holes where your teeth were. No swishing with mouthwash, either. It's quite painful if that clot gets dislodged - you can end up with "dry socket". The directions you were given likely tell how long to avoid mouthwashes with alcohol - you could use that as a guideline for alcoholic drinks. At least a couple of days, as the alcohol could eat away at the delicate blood clot that's forming.Ibuprofen or another NSAID should help with the pain. I also highly recommend putting ice packs on. Usually on for 10 minutes, off for 10 minutes is good. It reduces swelling and helps with the pain.In a few days you should be feeling fine.Good luck!

When brushing your teeth are you supposed to brush your gums too?

Answer:
As a dentist I can tell you that brushing your gums are an absolute must. This helps get rid of extra plaque build up and prevents the bacteria from building up and starting to decay a tooth (IE: cavity). Brushing the tongue is also important as this also helps get rid bacteria that cause bad breath etc.
Yes you should brush you gums. You should brush for two minutes as well. I actually time myself. I want to make sure I am doing it right. I use a manual too. I floss daily and and use mouth rinse daily. It has paid. I receive praises from my Dentist and I have wonderful teeth. Brush those gums! They need it too!
Yes, you can even brush your tongue if you want.
Absolutely. Poor gum health is one of the major causes of loss of teeth. Brushing gums helps improve circulation to the gums, and ultimately the teeth, which in turn improves their health. Be gentle on your gums however - massage them with the toothbrush!
Yes, but GENTLY. If you don't, you can get gum disease. But if you do it too hard, you can actually wear your gums out. I learned that the hard way. Good question!
Yes Yes. Gum is a must to brush.
My Boyfriend who's a dentist told me that; gum is the key to a set of healthy teeth. Without healthy gum, you wouldn't have healthy teeth.
The correct way of brushing is; brush down from the gum to your teeth for the top %26 brush up from the gum to your teeth for the bottom.
Hope this info helps.
Yes, brushing gums is imperative for oral health and overall body health. There are detailed and simple to follow instructions on how to brush the teeth and gums and also how to floss correctly at www.denta-med.com.au. It's written by a dentsit. The Denta-Med gel is an antibacterial gel that uses nanoparticles for the first time in any oral health product. It's excellent stuff.
Good luck

What's your opinion on tooth whitening for teenagers?

Answer:
Assuming there's no medical/dental reason not to do so, then I think it's just fine.Although I'm quite ancient, I can still clearly remember being a teen and suffering agonies because my ____ was too ____. It's hard enough being that age without having to deal with dingy teeth too. However, depending on the parents' finances, perhaps the kid should pay for it themselves, or at least chip in.For instance, I needed glasses but insisted on contacts. My parents wouldn't pay for them, but I was quite happy to do so.
i think teenagers should first get braces before teeth whitening. and try to get braces when your still young.
but, yes, teeth whitening is a great idea for teens!
It's overdone , makes your teeth look fake and weakens the enamel. All these girls walking around with fluorescent smiles look phony and plastic. Unless your teeth are dark or stained natural is beautiful.
When I was young, I was thin, pretty, and well assembled.I had tetracycline stained but otherwise pretty teeth. I was told that the stains were permanent otherwise I would have bleached in a second. My teeth actually limited my early career and social opportunities...not that I'm sad about what I've become. I bleached them as an adult because they were yellowing with age. Guess what happened? They are now rid of yellow and those nasty stains. They look fantastic and I get compliments on my "gorgeous" smile...words I have longed for for over 30 years. My opinion is DO IT! but don't ask my opinion on those tongue piercings...I never would have done that...I may have considered one of those trampy tattoos on my back though and a belly button ring.ahhh youth! enjoy it!

Whats wrong with my toothpaste?

when ever i wake up, i have this crap in my mouth, i think its like dead skin but i'm not sure, in my mouth. its sick, because i have to wear a retainer and all of the crap comes out with it. what the heck is this stuff? and have any of you had problems like this?
Answer:
It sounds like gingival sloughing-- the skin in your mouth is 'shedding', and it could be you're allergic to something in your toothpaste. This happens to me if I'm using a tartar control toothpaste, and my hygienist has the same problem-- she uses children's toothpaste and had me try it also. No more gingival sloughing. Hope this helps!
i have a retainer, but that hasn't happened to me, talk to your doctor
What brand is it? Some toothpaste was recalled in the U.S. Look at this link.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19214360/...
Check your toothpaste. If it says "Made in China" then throw it out.
We all have dead skin in our mouths sometimes.
Fortunately, that tissue is one of the fastes regenerating kind.Using mouth-wash is one way to kill a lot of this tissue.. but it's not so bad.. Try rinsing out your mouth better with water after brushing, and brush your tongue and gums too.. drink a lot of water during the day.Do try changing your toothpaste too.. Either way, it's nothing serious.

Whats wrong with my teeth?

I have a pain in my teeth when i eat hot or cold foods. It shoots thru my mouth as well as aches. Its my bottom molars. Only started in the last week or so. It no different when i eat sweets. Ive never had a hole in my tooth b4 so i dunno what that feels like. Ive also impacted wisdom teeth, they have come thru but maybe huring because they r pusing on other teeth? I dunno hel me out ere
Answer:
Sensitive teeth is usually caused by thinning of the enamel that allows things like hot, cold or sweets to get to the nerve endings a toothpaste for sensitive teeth or one of the new enamel rebuilding toothpastes should help this.
If you have a cavity, you would more likely have a lasting pain that the shooting you described.
If your wisdom teeth have come thru but are still putting a lot of pressure forward this could cause a dull, deep ache that didn't really let up much.
Sounds like you need to see a dentist!! Ibuprofen can help the ache if it isn't to severe and the toothpastes may need to be something you use forever but nothing can replace seeing the doc.
You could have a cavity. Go see your dentist soon so you can get it taken care of:)
use toothpaste for sensative teeth, like sensodyne. it really helps, i have that problem now too, as we get older the enamel gets thinner and gets tiny cracks in it.
Well, the pain that you feel in your teeth when you eat hot or cold foods may be because you wore away some of the enamel on your teeth. That generally makes teeth pretty sensitive. You might wanna switch to a new toothpaste that prevents the wearing away of that enamel.
I'd probably see a dentist.
Sounds like you might have a cavity. Go see your dentist.
Just go see a dentist, that's probably the best answer
You need to see a dentists. Sounds like you have a cavity and it needs filling before it affects the other teeth. Also you may need those wisdom teeth extracted.. It won't be cheap but it's well worth it. Dentures cost a heck of a lot more. Better to take care of them early than too late.
This may sound a little nutty but you might try letting the "flouride" toothpaste stay and soak into your teeth for awhile. It's like getting a cheap flouride treatment. If you are tempted to swallow the toothpaste, keep a napkin close that you can spit into. Try this for a couple of days about three times a day.

What's wrong with me?

Over the last three days my tounge and my gums have been quite sore. I have no back (chewing) teeth. It's this area that sore to touch. I've been using an antiseptic mouthwash and although its helped a little it hasn't got rid of it. My tounge does't look any different than usual, but the gums that hurt have gone very white.Anyone got any ideas what's up?I'm booked to see my dentist in four weeks time. Cant go any sooner, and my doctor is rubbish.
Answer:
sounds like an infection in the gum which you might need antibiotics for. Most dentists even NHS ones have emergency spaces and I really think you should try and get one. Other that that try taking painkillers every 4 hours for at least 3 days, keep them in your system, and keep gargling with the mouthwash. Have you caught your gum on something sharp, or eaten something that might have scratched your gum? Make sure, however sore it is to do, floss as much as you can because plaque causes bleeding and pain. Hope you feel better soon.
If your gums are white.. sounds like gingivitis.
do a yahoo image search for gingivitis and see if your gums look the same.
If you do not like your doctor and he won't see you sooner go to a different one.Brush and mouth wash every day 2 or 3 times with HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. It will heal you gums. It is about $1.00 per quart and will bubble the poisons out of your gums.
You can find it in the drug department, usually next to the rubbing alcohol. It comes in a brown bottle normally. Why in the world don't you have back teeth? If you to not take care of your teeth and gums they will not really get better.

What's with my braces??

I've been wearing braces for about 9 monthes now and they have straightened my teeth out dramatically already, but recently two of my front teeth started to drift back into the position they were before i got braces, they are just slightly shifted back into the direction they were in. And i don't understand why this is happening, i didnt get hit in the mouth, all of my brackets are on, my wires are fine, i still have the little rubber band chain around the brackets, NOTHING IS BROKEN and yet they are moving back into position. Are they supposed to do this? at my last ortho appointment they gave me rubber bands to wear, could that be it?i hate this i spend months getting my teeth straight and then for no apparent reason two of them start drifting backthank you
Answer:
It happens sometimes, my friend wears braces ever since third grade and he has the same problems. I looks like they need to re-tighten or re-cement the braces and brackets properly. Correct the teeth as quickly as you can, before it goes any worse.
Tell your Orthodontist this AGAIN and make him give you an answer! He may have not understood or thinks it is better.

What's the toothpaste that dulls sensitivity & restores erosion from acid?

There's a commercial for it but I forgot.

What's the procedure some people have to get done, where afterwards their teeth look longer??

I read about it online and this woman was very upset because she had to have this done and she said her teeth looked so different after the surgery compared to before. She said her teeth looked really long. I think it is related to the gums. What is it called?
Answer:
Surgery on the gum tissue when you have excessive boneloss and deep pockets can result in the appearance of longer teeth. To reduce a periodontal pocket, the tooth has to be cleaned along the root surface--root planning. The periodontist may also have to recontour the bone to make it level again-osseous surgery. Tissue removal is necessary in some cases so the patient can maintain a shallow pocket. The term "Long in the Tooth" is related to this appearance. Because gum disease takes years and years to progress, being long in the tooth meant you were an elderly person. People in years past died at earlier ages, so 40's and 50's used to be considered old. Now we are living longer and gum disease is having to be maintained longer. Surgery is sometimes the only way to control the disease process in the gum. You have to decide.is it better to have teeth even if they aren't as nice looking, or have dentures??
Gum Recontouring / Shaping Surgery sounds the most likely procedure from your description.Gum recontouring is sculpting and shaping excessive and uneven gum tissue using laser. It is also called a gingevectomy. If she has had a different procedure, and this is a side-effect of the surgery, she most likely was diagnosed with a periodontal issue and could have been one of several treatments.

Whats the procedure for placing an amalgam filling?

Answer:
First, if the cavity is big enough, say, reaching the dentin (the sensitive part of the tooth) or the cementum (if near the gumline), you have to be numbed for it. Second, when you are numbed, the cavity on the tooth is cleaned, or shall I say, prepared to make it clean and acceptable for the amalgam to be placed. That is the "drilling" part. Third, when it is ready for the amalgam to be placed, it doesn't need to be "etched" as the amalgam depends on mechanical retention (meaning grooves are created by drilling for the amalgam to adapt better inside the cavity) and not on chemical retention (as the acid etches and forms tags for composite resins to bind better with the tooth). The dentist will just deliver the amalgam into the cavity by means of a plugger and condense it well into the prepared cavity until it has filled the cavity and he/ she takes out the excess by carving it out to conform to the contour of the tooth to make it functional. He / she might want to burnish it too so it will have a smoother and shinier look. Then the dentist might want to adjust the bite by asking you to bite on articulating paper, so it wouldn't be too high when you close and grind down amalgam from the marks created. Then, tooth is ready to go, or shall I say you will be all set.So, in short, no etching and no bonding needed for amalgams.
The procedure is an simple as another other filling material. The amalgam is placed into the cavity in small amounts and is 'plugged in' with a fair amount of pressure. Once the cavity is full, any excess is removed and the filling will be carved as to return to the original shape of the tooth
First you have to drill a hole in the tooth that needs the filling,
then a base (ZOE) is placed in the bottom of the cavity and finally the amalgam is made by mixing some metals (such as silver and copper) with mercury and placed in the rest of the cavity and condensed. It has to be placed following the anatomy of the tooth so there aren't any premature contacts with the antagonist teeth. After a few days you go back to the dentist so he can polish it. I hope this will help.
No it doent need any of that. Thats just for white fillings its part of making the material bond on your teeth. The difference in that silver fillings just fill in holes while white feelings can be formed on.
Having an amalgam filling is very straight forward, first off the dentist will numb the area, he/she will wait a while to let the injection work, once the injection has taken effect the dentist will simply drill out the old filling, if there is any sign of decay this will be removed, if the filling looks deep a lining of Dycal
will be placed inside the hole to help protect the pulp.
The amalgam is now ready to be placed inside, whilst the amalgam is being inserted, good moisture control is very important as amalgam swells if it gets moist and this could result in the filling being to high and you putting to much force on the tooth when biting.
Once the filling is placed inside the dentist will check using articulating paper that the bite is correct and the filling is not to high, and if all's well your free to go.
We normally advise patients to avoid eating on the side the filling was placed for about 24hrs, just to allow the filling to settle and to wait for the numbness to wear off before drinking anything hot.
Firstly, depending on how deep the cavity is the dentist will ethier give you anastetic or not. Then use an excavator to take the decay away or use hand drills. Then if the cavity is touching the nerve they mad put a lining in. Afterwards they may use a matrix band to shape the tooth to fill. Then they will use an amalgam carrier to insert the amalgam in the cavity

What's the name of that disease that people get from tongue kissing or borrowing other's toothbrushes?

Answer:
Infectious mononucleosis, is usually caused by the Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV). Once infected you will carry the virus for the rest of your life. EBV is believed to be the cause of a disease that can occur later in life that is similar in some ways to mono- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) It is also known as Chronic Epstein-Barr Virus (CEBV) or Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Unlike mono, the chronic forms don't get better.
Mono makes you very tired and can cause a lot of other symptoms and can take as long as 6 months to recover. The recurrence of chronic symptoms can last a lifetime and be difficult to manage. Usually it is no big deal, but you don't want to be one of the unlucky ones, so avoid as much as possible activities that involve the possible exchange of saliva with others. No drinking from the same glass, passing a joint, etc.!
1st link is on mono, the second is on CFS.

I presume you are thinking of mononucleousis.
Mononucleosis. Also can be picked up from sharing drinks and other things.
Ah, Mono, also known as the "kissing disease"... it's not a fun one..
HELLO,
THE CORRECT ANSWER AS SAID BY OTHERS IS MONONUCLEOSIS.
There are numerous diseases that people get from these situations.
Mononucleosis.

What's the different between a Dentist & a Dental Hygienist?

Answer:
As a dentist myself I can tell you that there are several differences. First off your dentist is a doctor, I went to four years of undergrad then 4 years of dental school. A dentist treats and diagnoses dental problems, we read x-rays, place fillings, extraction, root canals etc. We are also allowed to write prescriptions for medications (ex: narcotic pain medication and antibiotics), give injections/administer anesthesia, and if you have additional training post dental school then you may perform oral surgery. A dental hygienist is the person who takes x-rays, cleans teeth and assists the dentist during procedures etc. Henry C's answer is correct, it is relatively the same as the difference between a doctor and nurse. Although the dentist is the doctor and makes all the decisions, the dental hygienist is an extremely important person in ANY dental practice.
Dentists can do the work, diagnosing, cleaning, everything. Hygienists are experts in the cleaning department. We specialize in scaling tartar/calculus and cleaning teeth/ treating/preventing periodontal disease and cavities.
a dental hygenist is one who cleans your teeth, a dentist is like a doctor. he looks at the xrays and check your teeth for any problems
It's the difference between a doctor and a nurse.
The dentist Is a Doctor.
A dentist is a doctor. He/She makes dental diagnosis and can remove tooth structure ( fillings, RCT, etc.). A dental hygienist can't diagnosis or remove structure but we can do everything else a dentist does. I can give anesthesia, place fillings, and I'm a profeesional "teeth cleaner". We also do periodontal therapies,ie. treating gum disease.
a dentist checks your teeth and does all the work to the teeth the hygienist cleans them and gives you advice on how to brush and keep them lovely xx

What's the difference between incisors and canine teeth? (if there are any)?

is it the different terms use to describe the same teeth in human and animals, respectively? or what?thanxxx~
Answer:
Yes there is a difference.
On the top:
The incisors are the front 4 teeth. The 2 front teeth (big) right in the center are called the "central incisors." Then, on each side of the 2 front ones there are miniature versions of the 2 front ones, called lateral incisors. Then you have the canines, which are have more of a pointed edge as opposed to flat edge. Its almost like a mirror image if you start right between the two front teeth. The bottom:
the same pretty much for the bottom, except all the incisors usually are the same height and shape.Incisors are used to bite into something to eat. (incise)
Canines are used to "shear" food.
Canines are very important teeth, and usually have the longest root out of all the teeth in your mouth.
In the human dentition, canines and incisors are shaped differently and located at different places in the mouth, and canines generally have longer roots than incisors.I don't know if veterinarians call those teeth with different names in different animals though. You will have to ask a veterinarian about that.
Incisors are the teeth directly at the front of your mouth, these are adapted for biting. Canine teeth are the fang shaped ones just after the incisors, these were originally designed to tear into meat. Then you have the pre-molars and molar which were originally designed to chew vegetation

What's the difference between having teeth removed in your dentist's surgery and hospital ?

I was told I needed all 4 wisdom teeth out and my dentist said he would do it in his surgery as he thought it best to avoid a general aneasthetic (or however you spell it !). He has removed two of them in his surgery but wants me to go to hospital for one of the remaining ones. He said it's close to the nerve, which is why he doesn't want to do it. Is he going back on what he said about gen aneasthetics or do the hospital just have a diff way of getting them out ? Also my dentist is a private one (I'm in the UK), will I have to pay to have this treatment in hospital ? Anyone know what the cost in comparison to having it done at the dentist is ? I think I paid about æ‹¢120 for each tooth out so far. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.
Answer:
im a certified dental assistant.you need to find yourself an ORAL SURGEON,(sorry for large caps) they are professionals at what they do and will help you, making you feel more comfortable because they specialize in the profession of removing teeth and overall mainly wisdow teeth removal...oral sergeons are professional at removing wisdom teeth they do all the time probably 20 times a day...they specialize in removing hard to remove wisdom teeth.i would recommend you see one than go to the hospital...ive worked with oral sergeons so i know they are great at what they do...hospitals ARE expensive see if you can make an appointment with an oral sergeon..look one up if you have any trouble see if your dentist can refer you to an oral sergeon...hope this helped
I'm a plaintiff's lawyer who has handled dental malpractice cases. The main danger with the dentist's local anesthesia (your spelling was a variation, but you Spoonerized the "a" and "e") is that the needle will hit a nerve in the jaw or its joint. This can result in loss of feeling or motor functions in facial muscles. However, your dentist was properly engaging in "conservative treatment", which means the treatment should be the least which will solve the problem.
This is because a general anesthesia can result in death!
Either case has a low probability of occuring, but you should always choose the action with the least damage possibility.
Just as all faces are different, so the placement of people's muscles and the nerve pathways which serve them are also different. I'm not sure how your dentist determined that THIS nerve was close to the tooth. Perhaps he noticed where he had to place the needle(s) when he gave you the shots for the other two tooth extractions. In any case, he is right to refer you to a hospital if he feels the extraction is beyond the capabilities of his office. I give him high marks for knowing his limitations.
I doubt if the hospital has a different way of getting the tooth out. My guess is that the advantage is the hospital does many more surgeries than your dentist. Also, if he feels there is a good chance of damage, he will not be the one being sued.
I live in New Orleans, so I have no knowledge of whether your Socialized Medicine in the UK will cover this. However, even if it doesn't normally cover dental work, such taxpayer payment may be available to you anyway because the job can't be done by a regular dentist. You'll have to check with the government plan people - - they always have someone who can explain their product because they want more customers to justify their jobs. Unfortunately, from what I hear there is always a long wait for government services in every country which furnishes them. Canadians regularly come across the border to get medical services in the US, even though they must pay for them personally. Socialized Medicine has always reduced the number of doctors. They don't like operating under government bureaucrats.
Personally, before I went to a hospital I would try a different dentist. I wouldn't tell him about the first, I'd just see if I really needed the teeth out, or if the first dentist was just running the meter.
The main difference is the experience that the practicioner has, that will make the procedure shorter time wise therefor less traumatic, less pain,The need of general anethesia or not dependes on if your molars are partially impacted, fully impacted or erupted,a panorex x-ray will tell. If the clinician has the experience it could be done in the office.
A few things:
1. I'm not worried about damaging a nerve with a needle, or even a blade, I'm more worried about hitting the nerve with a drill bit or insulting/lacerating one while taking a tooth out (sometimes the roots can wrap around a nerve or be right on top of one, where the possibility of nerve damage, although usually temporary, can be quite high).2. I agree with your dentist. If he does not feel comfortable taking a certain tooth out and wants to refer it, more power to him/her. I know my limits, you should be glad he/she knows theirs.3. Having a tooth extracted by on oral surgeon in a hospital setting will be more expensive than having your usual dentist take it out, but since they are the specialists and do it all the time, you would be in good hands.

Whats the difference between a dental plan and a dental insurance ?

Answer:
Dental insurance simply means you have a program where you get help paying for dental work. Usually, you pay premiums to have the program, but you may not have to pay anything, as it may be covered by your employer, or it may be that you are on someone else's insurance as a dependent.A dental plan is the actual description of benefits that you get with your dental insurance, and it varies from company to company, or even inside of the same company. For instance, some dental plans pay for two cleanings each year, and you don't pay anything for those. Other plans have you pay a small fee for each cleaning. Some plans will charge you a set fee (called a co-pay), like $35, for each cavity you have filled in the calendar year. Other plans will pay on a percentage basis, with the plan paying 80% of all charges, and you paying the other 20%.So, insurance is just that, insurance, where you have a program which helps cover dental expenses. The actual dental plan is the benefits you are allowed by your insurance company. Since they vary widely, you should probably find out just what is covered on your dental plan before you go to the dentist. You need to know what you will be paying so you can make informed decisions about your care.
Okay if you are asking what I think you are - you are asking about 2 different ways of going about paying for dental services.Dental Insurance - You pay your work or a company monthly and they (this is an example only) pay for 2 cleanings a year, 80% of restorative, and 50% of major work with a yearly max they will pay (such as $1,000.)Dental Plan - You pay work or a company (monthly or however its set up) and certain offices will accept it and they will give you a reduced rate on services as opposed to paying a percentage. With these, it usually comes out that the dental insurance is better since it covers a high percent of work, but sometimes plans can be better too. Its up to what you figure! :)
Pretty much the same. I have ameriplan dental. Its the best plan out there. It is $11.95 a month with a $20 one time processing fee...they do all your paper work thats why. Anyway it comes with FREE vision, prescription and chiropractic benefits as well. I was paying $195 for teeth inspection and cleaning, now with the plan I pay $50. And I had a filling.was $300 but I paid only $38. And I only pay $38 for a cleaning alone. I love this plan...and they are the number one dental plan in the USA so thats always nice too!Over 100,000 providers. Here is their site if you need it.www.everyonebenefits.com/pmriv...Good LuckAmy Letts

What's the deal with kid's toothpaste and whitening?

I started using kid's Colgate toothpaste (the one that tastes sweet) and it has made my teeth whiter in one week than so called "whitening" toothpaste has had in over a year!Am I mistaken or does Children's Colgate make your teeth whiter?
Answer:
Usually whitening toothpaste doesn't do a whole lot to whiten teeth. Basically it cuts down on the amount of stain on the enamel. I've never heard of a children's toothpaste that whitens though. It could be that the children's colgate is more abrasive than toothpaste you have use in the past. Usually the more abrasive ( Arm %26 Hammer for example) the toothpaste the better it is against stain.
If you smoke, drink a lot of coffee, tea or soda the more stain you will have. Try to cut down on that if you want a whiter smile.

Whats the correct medical term for jamming a fragment of crisp between tooth and gum?

What's the best way?

What is the best way to get 2 molars out in 2 weeks. I really, do not want to get them pulled. I have to have them out, they both are pretty loose, but i need to get them out or my orthodontist said i have to get them pulled. Any suggestions besides tying a string to it and tying it to a door?
Answer:
It is common for an orthodontist to recommend teeth extractions in order to make room for your teeth to move. If they are primary, or baby teeth, eat apples, carrots, foods like that to expedite the process. You mother should consider the cost of the extracts as part of the orthodontic procedure cost. (It's cheaper to have teeth puleed than it is to get braces.)A professional's point of view to consider: If your mother resists the referrals that the orthodontist makes, he/she will be hesitant about treating you. You haven't even started your therapy, but your mother is not willing to do what it takes to make your treatment successful. You don't want to be the patient that no one wants to deal with because your mom's a pain. It happens, believe me.
Why two weeks?
If they are loose just wiggle them often and they will eventually come out.
Why don't you want to get them pulled? Trust me, I was in your same situation a year ago, except I had to get four different teeth pulled at once and i was really afraid of the pain. But it turnes out I didn't feel a thing, except the novicane shot which doesn't hurt at all, it's just a little pin prick. honestly, getting them pulled is the safest and best way to get your teeth out if your dentist insist upon it, and will stop from later problems causing and so you will have to go back to the dentist later for treament, causing more pain in the long run. And the after-pain only last a couple of hours and isn't even bad. It's actually quite fun to poke your tongue around and feel the holes haha.

What's the best way to whiten your teeth?

what's the best way to whiten your teeth? apart from toothpaste obviously... lol!
Answer:
I used Crest White Strips this year. My teeth were always a hazy shade of yellowish-white beforehand and I wanted to try to whiten them up.Right now there are about 100 different white strip varieties. Some, like the original, you have to apply a messy strip and leave on for 30 min, others are only 3 minutes and have a nice mouthguard shape. However, the original white strips are $10 or more cheaper than the newer ones and that's saying something seeing how the original ones still cost between $20 and $30.After using the original strips twice a day for 2 weeks I noticed a dramatic difference in my teeth color. I highly recommend them if you can commit to wearing them every day.
bionic white.
Take bleach and mix with water then swish it around in ur mouth
the whitening strips are good or brushing with toothpaste that contains whitener in it.
Well most dentists generally advise that if you want a job done right you need to get it done professionally. People will try and sell you alot of things which claim to make your teeth whiter but if you really want something that is guaranteed to give you visible results - get a cosmetic job done from the people who are paid to do it.
Real Simple magazine's current issue has a section on teeth whiteners, comparing the best of different types including overnight treatments and toothpastes that purport to whiten teeth. I would suggest you get a copy or go to the local bookstore or library and look it over.
I have found that baking soda works and Listerine whitening mouth wash.
You'll have to see a dentist. He (she) will polish your teeth extremely white.
go to ur dentist, have them take your impressions for a custon fit tray and do the take home bleaching. that's really the best way in getting the job done. don't waste you money on the laser bleaching. the take home bleaching is still the best
1 part peroxide 1 part water. Swish in mouth.Crest Whitening strips (make sure they're even though)
If you don't want to spend a lot of money, try Crest Whitestrips Classic ($14)or Crest Whitestrips Premium ($30) The results last 3-6 months, depending on the original shade of your teeth. Also, using Crest Vivid White $3-$5 helps speed the whitening process.
I used Crest Whitestrips, and although they are a bit costly, it was definitely worth it in the end. I noticed a big difference and so did a lot of my friends. I would suggest buying the 7-day premium package because after a while, using the classic 28-day package, I became very lazy and did not want to put them in my mouth every day for an hour. It doesn't entirely break down your tooth enamel either, just if you have fillings for cavities in your teeth, they might wear down, it happened to me once. I hope I helped. Thanks, -wrooney97

Whats the best way to take away pian in a tooth?

please no joke
Answer:
You might have a cavity. Best to go see a dentist. If you can't get to a dentist, I suggest Ibrupofen with 800mgs. Works wonders.
see a doctor. temporary relieve would be toothache medicine which you can find in the sore
Take 800mg or no more than 1000mg of Ibuprofen. It's anti-inflammatory and should relieve pain until you get to the dentist. Never wait when you have a tooth ache because it most likely is a cavity or infection. If it becomes worse like you can't take it anymore, call your dentist's regular # and there should be a message (since they are most likely closed) with number to call in case of an emergency. Good luck
Take a cotton wool ball and soak it in alcohol and hold firmly between the teeth gum etc. especially if u have a cavity in a molar u can clench your teeth together..cheap and easy till you get to the dentist

What's the best way to reduce swelling?

What is the best way to reduce swelling of cheeks after wisdom teeth extraction?? I look like a chipmunk!(no offense to chipmunks!)
Answer:
Use cold packs wrapped in towels. You can also eat popcicles and drink ice water which will not only help the swelling and pain, but increase your fluid intake which will help your body heal faster. You should also take any pain medication your dentist perscribed.
How cute..no offense to chipmunks.
I would suggest ice packs...and time dear.if it is a major problem, call your dentist.I hope you get better.and God bless you and chipmunks! ---Kimmie
IBProfen
Within the first 24 hours, use ice packs. After, use a heating pad or warm towel. Keep your head elevated while sleeping w/two pillows. And take the meds they give.
ibuprofen and ice packs

What's the best way to cure bad breath?

Answer:
Brushing teeth, especially your tounge. Flossing to get anything thats in between your teeth. Followed by a Listerine mouthwash. Fabulous!
avoid constipation
Brush your tongue and cheeks, not just your teeth. The bacteria live in your mouth, consume food and produce waste. The smell is a result of the waste. You can kill the bacteria with mouthwash, give up eating, or clean out the waste. The choice is yours.
Regular brushing, flossing, and using a water pick will get your mouth as clean as possible at home. If that doesn't help, it's time to see a dentist.
Brush your tounge! Lots of bacteria and germs live on your tounge (sometimes you can see it, it's kinda white like at the back of your tounge). Use mouthwash, brush your teeth atleast twice a day, don't eat garlic, onions, fish, or anything with strong smell unless you brush after, chew minty gum, suck on breath mints, and just keep your mouth clean.
Don't chew gum. It gets the salivary glands going and makes your mouth full of spit. It actually makes your breath smell worse. After brushing your teeth, put more toothpaste on your brush and brush your toungue, the roof of your mouth, and as well as the inside of your cheeks.Eat better foods such as fruits and greens.

What's the best toothpaste to us?

Toothpaste that actually works or w/e.
Answer:
I like Crest Whitening Extreme Herbal Mint toothpaste... works great 4 me %26 tastes good 2!
I personally think they are all the same. It's a personal preference. Taste or gel vs. paste.
Colgate Total...I like the fresh stripe kind. It leaves you feeling fresh even after coffee.
I think it depends on what results you are trying to get from toothpaste, alone. Be more specific.
arm %26 hammer, I think.
Well I like colgate total. It like tasted really good and works too,
I use Sensodyne because I have sensitive teeth and gums.
Depends on your personal preference. Colgate Total is what my dentist recommends. Because of the combination of triclosan that helps prevent gum disease. But anything with flouride and ADA seal should be fine.

Whats the best thing for straightenin teeth without braces?

Answer:
NICE IDEA BUT, NOTHING WILL DO IT. YOU NEED BRACES.
you can do invisalign if your not too young..clear plastic over teeth changed every two weeks shifting teeth to align them in the right position...like braces..but you cant see them...or ask your dentist if they can do bondings(tooth color fillings)to straighten your teeth that way..had a dentist i worked with that did that..
i think you would need braces unless you get the in-visa-line which is clear and no one can tell you are wearing the braces :D %26lt;33

Whats the best teeth whitener?

In your opinion what over the counter teeth whitener works the best?
Answer:
gooood ole baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. This is use in my daily routine.
Seriously look @ the ingredients in those whitening products.
I use Crest Vivid White toothpaste. And i smoke so of course my teeth are a bit yellow, and i have been using it for 2 weeks now, and my teeth are the whitest they have ever been!! Give it a try!
not smoking.
and brushing.
In my practice I've seen the best results from the Crest Whitestrips product. You can also get this at a stronger concentration from some dental offices. It will cost a little more than say Wal-Mart but is a far superior product. Whitener toothpastes will NOT whiten you teeth. They will however, do a good job of removing stains.

What's the best teeth whitener on the market. The dentist can not whiten my teeth.?

I have a capped tooth in the front so that one will not whiten. I have 2 teeth that need a little whiten. They are on each side
Answer:
The dentist cannot whiten your capped tooth, but a home whitening kit is probably the best thing you could do here. You would take your dentist-made custom tray and put a drop of whitening gel on either side. Then insert the tray onto your teeth. Repeat this once a day for a couple of weeks, and you should get there. The important thing is to whiten the two adjacent teeth a little bit more white than the crowned tooth, because the bleach will rebound back slightly. If you don't want to do that, or your dentist's kit is beyond your budget, then here's the over the counter solution. But some Colgate Simply White paint on whitener. Get a bunch of cotton balls. Bite together and stuff each cheek until your lips are forced open. Paint the whitener on your two problem teeth, lie down, and leave on there for 30-60 minutes.Personally, I prefer the first method, but I leave the choice up to you. Finally, the best toothpaste to maintain your newfound whiteness is Ultrabite Advanced Whitening. Should run you about a dollar a tube. Remember, whitening toothpastes don't really help you attain whiteness, but they are pretty good at helping you maintain it by preventing stain buildup.Good luck.
Colgate Total Is The Best On The Market :P:PWhiteeee :D
In fact no one and nothing can! The colour of one's teeth depends on chemical composition of one's body and its inherent colour cannot be altered. Brushing is only to maintain its quality and prevent decay. The market is flooded with all types of toothpaste but even without any one should be able to maintain one's teeth in good condition - by using a pinch of salt whenever one brushes one's teeth!
Any type of dental restoration will not bleach. Only natural health tooth enamel will work with bleaching agents. My recommendation is bleach all your teeth to the shade you like then have any restorations redone to the matching shade.

Whats the best product or anything to whiten your teeth?

and whats the cost of it?how many shades whiter did your teeth get after doing it?
Answer:
My personal preference is Nite White Excel. Unfortunately it is not cheap for the initial delivery. When you go to the dentist they will make custom trays for your teeth specifically. Then you go back and they give you the trays with a starter kit. The price can range from $200-600, depending where you go/live. Once the starter kit is used up, you can purchase touch-up kits for a lot less.
It has been my professional opinion that the "in office" treatments are not all that great in comparison to the take home methods. Even if you do the "in office" method, they still send you home with trays, and it usually costs a lot more.
My teeth only got about 2 shades whiter, but they really were not that discolored to begin with. Since you have a yellow base color, I would say that you are an ideal candidate for take home whitening (under the assumption that you have no cavities and are in good oral health).
If that is out of your price range, I have some patients who are very pleased with results from Crest Whitening Strips. One important thing to remember when whitening: the only color that will change is that of your natural enamel (outer portion of tooth). Meaning that any fillings or crowns will not change their color, even if the filling is tooth colored.
I hope this helped you.
Best product - toothbrush
Cost - 29p (tescos)
Advice - use twice daily for 3 mins
Hope this helps!
theres a product called rapid white from boots store and i think the cost of it is about 8 or 9 pounds and it is very good all u have to do i put number 1 on first then number 2and u have got to do it 3 times a day and it makes ur teeth go 6 or 7 times whiter mine went 10 shades whiter but it deppends on other people teeth hope it brings you as much joy as it has me its worth the money i buy 1 every 6 months and i have still got loads left and i have had it for about 1 year and it hasnt got an expiery date kk

Whats the best homemade recipe to whiten teeth?

Answer:
i have always used baking soda to brush with on occasion (not more than a few times a month it can take off enamel), and rinse with peroxide. however, i have been using the new toothpaste by crest called pro health (cinnamon flavor) and have had more compliments on my teeth since. my dentist also said that my teeth looked great this time around. i drink coffee every morn, soda and tea throughout the day and i smoke.this really works!! my teeth are white!
baking soda or peroxide
make a paste of baking soda and water, and brush your teeth with it. warning: it will taste gross.
Brush and Floss.

Whats the best filling for my teeth?

I need the dentist to replace a 15 year old amalgam type filling in my mouth and need to decide on a new type. The dentist recommends an expensive porcelain type. Are they better in the long run or do they need replacing often too?
Answer:
Yes get the white ones that dontmleak toxic chem's. in your body like the silver ones do.
gold
I'd get wood fillings but watch out for splinters in your tongue.
Definitely alloy.
Gold alloy will last best over the long haul. Especially if it is a molar filling this has more strength and stabillity. If however your replaced tooth is in front where it could be seen, it may be more important to you that the tooth seems to blend in with your other teeth - which gold definitely will not.
Composite.

What's the best country to go to for dental treatment as its so dear in the UK/?

somewhere with reasonable costs and high standard of treatment
Answer:
best advice i can give is to go to a dentist in the UK - the problems and pitfalls people suffer abroad have to be seen to be believed. Going to the Europa-Dental Clinic in Budapest was a very painful and expensive experience. My gaurentee was useless and i have more problems than i started with. I went to Kreative originally and that was fine, though i know other people have had problems. My local dentist told me he could have done the work for the same price or cheaper - and i wouldn't have had all the trouble i have had in getting post-surgical problems sorted out. Good lesson learnt though, i will NEVER go abroad for any health care again!!
Well, the USA has great dental care, but by the time you pay for your plane ticket you might as well have it done in the UK.
Romania.
If you go to another country to fix your smile, you'll spend a lot more money traveling back and forth. I'd say: don't go anywhere. Go to the dentist wherever you are right now.
Scotland is not part OF the UK dental treatment, so try there!
Thing is the best treatment available is only available in countries that are a whole lot more expensive then the UK. Trust me on that one.
Iraq , they pull your teeth for nothing.
definately india a cud take u dere or jst give directions, its always cheper to clean ur teeth xx
Poland my friend, seriously
think about the travel costs. if you are going only for dental treatment, i wouldn't advise you to go. but however, there is another great idea. try putting your dental treatment as part of your holiday trip to any country like USA, etc.. that would be sensible. plan a holiday, and have a good dental checkup in between. if this advice doesn't sound pretty good, i would say stay here. though you spend a bit more, you could get everything done here (probably in your next street)
For people looking for cheap dental care they tend to go to the Eastern European counties (e.g. Poland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, etc). They are pretty cheap, and air fairs to these countries are cheap too. But like others have said, you need to weigh up how much work you need doing, whether the work needs several trips, whether you can afford to take time of work to stay out there to save on air fairs. There is no point going abroad if you only want a couple of veeners say, because what you save at the dentist you will spend on travel and hotel costs. If however, you need lots of work and you can afford to take a lot of time of work, it may be worthwile going abroad. But bear in mind you need to do a lot research before going ahead. Also you need to bear in mind what if something goes wrong? It could prove difficult to complain or to get the work rectified.

Whats the best alternative to tooth loss...?

I have a friend that had beautiful teeth at one time, and down the years, she didn't have the funds to keep up with dental care and now she's lost a good bit of her teeth. Thank God they're all in the back, but now she has 2 teeth that have cavities and are going to have to come out eventually. One is next to the front tooth, and the other is the front tooth. When she speaks, now she has a permanent lisp because this hole is getting bigger and bigger. She is not even 40 yet, and she's dreading them coming out, and she may have to get dentures. Does anyone have any other alternatives to dentures, thats not expensive or is she going to have to opt for dentures...and how do I tell her. No one will know the difference, but she's very attractive and she's afraid of losing her teeth in any event.
Answer:
Depending on her situation, a bridge may be a good option for replacing her front teeth. In order to do a bridge, the teeth on either side of the space would need to be structurally sound enough to support the bridge. To replace the missing back teeth, a removable partial denture would be the most affordable route. It is very important to replace those back teeth, because they are meant to take the brunt of chewing food, and when they're gone, we have to chew with our front teeth, which are really meant more for cutting and tearing the food. This means that the front teeth wear down much faster. There are ways of making partial dentures now that are very natural looking, without all the gaudy wire clasps showing like in years past. I wish your friend the best of luck and hope that she gets the best care possible so that she can stay healthy and beautiful.
if her teeth can still be filled (i.e. they're not so rotten that they're falling apart) then root canal work may save the nerve and hence the tooth. if not, then denture or bridgework may be the only way. once a tooth is too badly damaged by decay it has to come out.
The best cheap alternative to dentures you are going to get is fixing the teeth now and hoping to save them before it gets farther. All options of replacing teeth are very expensive be it bridges, implants, partials, or dentures.

Whats the best alternate to cure swollen gums? there is no pharmacy here?

my cheecks have swollen becoz of toothache and thers no pharmacy here. pls elp me its very painful
Answer:
You need to see a dentist. There are no home remedies that will cure an infected tooth that is hurting and swelling.
you need to see a dentist, but in the mean time, gargle with salt water

Whats the best alternate medicine to cure swollen gums and face? coz by toothache?

there is no dentist or pharmacy here.
Answer:
As a dentist myself, I highly recommend that you to head to either the nearest dentist or Emergency Room as this sounds like a possible abscess (infected) tooth. You will need to be prescribed antibiotics to rid you of the infection as this is a very serious problem that can have fatal complications if not treated. The infection can spread to the throat causing upper airway obstructions and can spread to the heart and brain causing death. PLEASE find a dentist in the area or head to the ER as this needs to be treated as soon as possible. Best of luck!
Go to your nearest ER.

What's the average range of price to pay for invisalign? what are the other choices for straightening teeth?

Answer:
The Invisalign price varies between $5800 and $7500 but often can be as low as $4000 based upon the difficulty of orthodontic treatment. Most adults require both upper and lower arch orthodontic treatment. These cases are often between $6200 and $6800.to read on.http://www.atlantadentist.com/clear_pric...

Whats the average price for getting a tooth extracted?

Answer:
The price for just a regular extraction is around 100, for a surgical one (where they cut the tooth, etc), around 150.However, if you haven't already seen the dentist, and you just know you have a tooth that you need out, you are going to have to pay for the exam, xrays, etc...which will come out to quite a bit more. It may also vary depending on which tooth it is. If it is a wisdom tooth that has not come in all the way, you can pay upwards of 300 for one tooth.
I don't know about average, but in my office a simple extraction is $95. They just go up after that, i.e. if it turns into a surgical extraction.
overall between $150 and $200.00 bucks
If you go to an oral surgeon the price varies from about 100-200 if it is a regular dentist 60-80 you can find it cheaper just call around if you do not have you own dentist. If there is a dental school around you they may take patients.
50 _ 70 Dollars ( depending where you go )
dependng on its local upto 300 bucks
try a dental college usu offilated with local community hospital/
This varies greatly depending on what state, whether it is a clinic or dentist office, etc. Probably from $65 to $125 unless it is an impacted wisdom tooth which you have to be put to sleep for would be around $250. There are Free Clinic in some towns which have dentists if you can't afford to pay and in some places, mainly cities, there are teaching hospitals that have dental clinics which do dental work at free or reduced rates. Students do the work while teachers oversee everything. It is safe. Maybe you could have your teeth fixed instead of having any pulled. I have a friend who got her teeth and her children's teeth all fixed at a teaching hospital. We thought it was a wonderful blessing for her!! Check into it; maybe it would be for you too.
It depends, the back teeth are different prices than the front teeth! They could range from $50-$100 dollars!

What's the average cost for braces given the estimate of 3 years of wear?

Answer:
Well I can tell you I got my braces a week ago on Wed. They really hurt in the beginning just so you know. Today is the first day I tried to eat anything even close to solid food. My braces are $4,700. It doesn't matter how long you wear the braces, but what exactly you need done. I just have really crooked teeth with no cross-bites or anything so I am really basic, and I am still looking at a lot of money. I am scheduled to have my braces on for 18 mts. Good luck :) Oh and p.s. I had to put $1000 down, plus $1000 in insurance, and my payments are $150, a month :)
We did two kids at $3200 and $3,000.
Different areas have different pricing. In my town its about $4000 and above.
It cost me $5000 in Ca. But it'll depend on the treatment and varies from dentist to dentist. =)

What's the alternative to a brace to correct a wonky tooth?

I'm 27
Answer:
There are all kinds of options to braces now days. You can get invisialign, labial braces (brackets on the teeth towards your tongue, or clear brackets. See an orthodontist for a consultation. They will explain all of the options and costs.
yank it out get a new tooth
If its only one tooth, you can have i pallet brace that just hooks over that tooth its on a pallet that is shaped to the roof of your mouth %26 its practically unnoticable, apart from a thin wire hooked over the top.But how many people look in your mouth.Or get it removed (which a dentist will not remove a perfectly healthy tooth) %26 have a crown put in.
nothing wrong with a brace ..only alternative is hammer

Whats something i could do to make my teeth straight fast? if i get braces it would be like 3 years !!?

help plz
Answer:
well braces or invisaline is kind of your only option.depends on how bad your teeth are.invisaline takes longer! you could go to the dentist and ask him about veneers.its like filling in the gap..or u can get your teeth capped to fill in the gaps...i have braces and its not that bad...got them in october and about to get them taken off
There's only one other option. Get veneers, pull your teeth out and replace them with fakes.
the fastest would be to knock them out and get implants or dentures. same day procedure
You could have them all pulled and get Dentures, that'll only thake a few weeks.
Braces is the only way to go. No other way is safe. Better late [and safe] then never.
no no pulling involved
ask your dentist about INVISALINE(en-visa-line)
you'll be quite surprised at the transformation
but it takes just as long or longer to fix them that way
without orthodontics, the quickest way to make the teeth appear straight would be with veneers. However, if there is overlapping of the teeth, some amount of tooth modification, drilling, will be needed. www.lumineers.com, shows before and after photos. your best bet is to do the ortho...
HELLO,
BRACES ARE THE WAY TO GO. SPEAK WITH YOUR DENTIST ABOUT OTHER OPTIONS.

What's good for bad breath?

What can I take to elimated my bad breath problem.
Answer:
proper oral hygiene. brush regularly, preferably after meals. use mouthwash. have regular dental check ups. and watch the food that you eat.
Brushing your teeth and tongue, mouthwash, mints, a stick of gum... Take your pick. There aren't any long-term treatments or cures. You just gotta handle it as it comes.
use mouthwash constantly
I would try getting a toothbrush that has a tongue cleaner.
A mouthwash.
Sugar-free gum gets rid of pieces of food in between your teeth and leaves a minty fresh smell.
brushing your teeth and using a good antibacterial mouthwash three times a day will usually deal with any halitosis. If this doesn't work for you, you may want to consult a dentist, you could have a disease process working against you.
Brush your toung. And whatever you do NO SMOKING. Smoking makes the worst mouth odor in the universe.Try lightly brushing gums too.
I said lightly!!
Brush and floss twice a day. Stay away from garlic and onions. Eat yogurt with live cultures every day. It helps aid digestion and breaks down enzymes in your digestive tract.
Look for a product from BreathRX. The company manifactures this device that you use to scrape your tongue. THAT is where all the bad breath germs hang out! The company also manufactures a toothpaste which is REALLY good and a mouthwash that you can use as well. Floss all you want, and you will benefit in terms of health from all the flossing, but it's on the tongue where the smelly germs are!Another issue may be that you are a mouth-breather. There was an ex-gf who was a mouth-breather, and her breath ALWAYS stunk SO badly. :-%26 She was nearly drinking the mouthwash, but it didn't help.Good luck.
Yes, brushing after every meal, flossing once a day but also visiting your dentist once a year for a check up, getting a professional cleaning at least twice a year. If you haven't seen your dentist in more than 2 years your bad breath could come from cavities or infections that you are unaware of. Even if you don't have a tooth ache!! If you haven't had a cleaning in over a year you could even have gum decease. You should also see your physician. Your bad breath could come from other health problems, stomach related for example. Especially if you have acid reflux.
Flossing is very important, I had the same problem, I tried everything, I like nice fresh breath flossing twice a day will improve, brush gently with a soft brush get a tongue scraper, get the back of your tongue. also go to the fruit store and buy aloe vera Juice it will help your breath..
and like the young lady said earlier sugar free gum when your mouth is feeling dry.
Assuming you are doing all the right things related to proper oral hygiene, brushing, flossing, regular visits to the hygienist and that you are otherwise healthy (no diabetes, acid reflux, etc.) your bad breath problem is most likely the result of "volatile sulfur compounds" in your mouth. You need a product that will reduce the amount of volatile sulfur compounds. BreathRx is a good one as previously mentioned but the one I prefer is called Smart Mouth. It is made by Triumph Pharmaceuticals. It was recently featured on The Apprentice. Hope this helps.
A few seeds of cardamom chewed for a brief while will clear your mouth of bad breath. Chew parsley leaves, which are sure to keep your breath fresh. More useful remedies at http://useinfo5.blogspot.com/
Get a teeth cleaning. Use a tongue scraper. There's some with a brush on one end and a scraper on the other. Brush gently in a few directions then scrape. Brush with a soft bristle brush for about 2-3 mins. Floss daily. Sugarless gums help too. Drink plenty of water. =)

What's d meaning of "Gotta go, my MEDS are kickin' in."?

Answer:
lol! I love that audible, I use it to make peeps think I'm crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy lolllll
Depends upon what is going on. In a game, their meds might interfere with their concentration on the game (falling asleep on the keyboard). Chances are they don't want the side-affects of their meds to interfere with what you and him/her were doing (like falling asleep at the keyboard).
A person has just taken some medication, and it is starting to take effect. Sleep medication is a common one, that as it takes effect the mind starts slowing down and does not process information correctly. This can also be from strong pain mediation, anti depressants or any medication that has a slowing effect. Other medications can also have similar consequences if there is a feeling of euphoria when taken. If you feel anything in your head from medication it can cause you to be unable (possibly) to do ordinary tasks.
Um.just what it says. A person who's on meds that makes them sleepy needs to go and sleep it off and can't conertrate on anything

What's causing my toothache where I've had root canal & crown?

I woke up 2 hours ago with a terrible throbbing pain in my mouth. It is around a tooth I had a root canal %26 crown put on about 7 months ago. I took 2 Aleve, and after an hour and no change in the pain I then took 2 Extra Strength Tylenols. It's been an hour since then, and I am just starting to feel the effect of the meds. Why am I having this pain? I thought a root canal removed all the nerves. Just looking for some reassuring advice until I can call the dentist in the morning. Thank you.
Answer:
A root canal does remove all the nerves; however, a tooth often has multiple roots, and it's possible that the dentist either didn't do all the roots, or missed one (sometimes they're hard to see). It's also possible that you have a problem with an adjacent tooth, and the pain is being "referred" to the area of the repaired tooth. As you clearly already know, the only way to be sure is to go to the dentist.Good luck!
infection
You may have broken the tooth and the gums around your root canal are irritated. It may be the tooth next to it that is hurting. Anytime you have pain that wakes you up and does not respond to medication you should go to a doctor as soon as possible.
It is possible that not all of the nerves were removed. I have heard of cases where people have had to go back to fix incomplete root canals. Your doctor should be able to tell you in the morning.
I feel for you. I had something similar that turned out to be a abscess UNDER the crown. If you have small mirror look at the base of the crown and gum. Any opening is great for bacteria to start something. Good luck, wish i had an legal(lol)
home based remedy to share.
Something is wrong. An infection may have set in, or something may have gotten under the crown, like a seed. See your dentist, good luck. Pain sucks.
Toothaches are painful but can be prevented
by take suitable precautions. Avoid eating
food which will result in the formation of acid
in the mouth, brush teeth regularly with a fluoride
toothpaste. I found the information at
http://aches.in/preventtoothache.html...
"Cracked Tooth Syndrome" refers to toothache caused by a broken tooth (tooth fracture) without associated cavity or advanced gum disease. Biting on the area of tooth fracture can cause severe sharp pains. These fractures are usually due to chewing or biting hard objects such as hard candies, pencils, nuts, etc. Sometimes, the fracture can be seen by painting a special dye on the cracked tooth. Treatment usually involves protecting the tooth with a full-coverage gold or porcelain-fused-to-metal crown. However, if placing a crown does not relieve pain symptoms, a root canal procedure may be necessary. http://www.san-diego-dentist.us/san-dieg...

What's an effective whitening toothpaste? if you stop using it, would your teeth go yellow again or worse?

Answer:
Most whitening toothpastes are about the same. I like the Crest Night Effects and they have a daytime one. They add an abrasive ingredient to help polish more of surface stains off. So if you drink a lot of things that are staining like coffee, tea, pop, etc. The whitening toothpaste helps keep those polished off with that little extra polishing agent. However, if you have sensitive teeth it can make that worse. If you stop using it you might have more of that coffee or tea stain the surface of your teeth.
I have yet to see a toothpaste that will actually whiten your teeth. At most, they may delay the yellowing of your teeth following a whitening procedure.
Anytime your teeth are whitened, through whatever procedure, they will eventually yellow again. It's due to the natural staining caused by food that you eat.
I recommend that you consult a dentist before you whiten your teeth by any method. He/she will let you know what the potential disadvantages might be. Generally, tooth whitening procedures weaken the enamel rods covering your teeth, which makes them more prone to decay.
The best way to make your teeth look white: if you're a girl, dark lipstick. If you're a guy, get a tan. :)
Hope that helps!

I must get asked this question atleast once a day! I also have yet to see of any toothpaste that whitens teeth. The toothpaste that claim to do that simply remove the day to day stains that we may get on our teeth from consuming products with dark color. However, whitening is not bad for your teeth at all. It is actually very beneficial. Whitening products that you can get from your dentist are the best!
