What kind of antibiotics do the dentists use to treat gum disease ?

Answer:
There is no antibiotics for gum disease. There are antibiotics for gum infections. They are Amoxicillin, Penicillian, Clindamycian, and Keflex. Those are the most common used in the dental field for infection.

They used to use ones based on Penecillin (ampecillin or something like that). Today I'm sure there are others.
There are no antibiotics for "gum" disease. A Good cleaning and regular brushing and flossing will help alleviate minor cases. Gum and periodontal disease is very dangerous b/c by the time you have it, it's very hard to stop. There is no "quick" fix for gum disease. Prevention is the key!

Antibiotics should not be used to treat gum disease. Gun disease is caused by a certain type of bacteria, and it is not killed by antibiotics. There is no cure for periodontal disease, however there are treatments. I have never worked with a dentist who would try to use an oral antibiotic to treat gum disease.Treatments used to help gum disease include deep scaling and Periolase.
