What is the best treatment to remove gum stuck on rug?

Answer:
shave.oh...not THAT rug? I think you're in the wrong category;-P
Try putting some peanut butter on the gum. It will break it down. You will then need to use a carpet spot remover to get rid of the peanut butter oil.
I find that if you use a product called Goo Gone... put it directly on the carpet and rub until it comes out... I have used this and it works like a charm.. it works on everything - you will be glad you bought this... find it at the local grocer or home depot type store.
Try laying some ice on it and stay there while the gum freezes. As each little bit freezes you can remove it. Then just dry the carpet! I hope this works for you! Thats why I hate gum! Good Luck!
For gum stuck to carpet, clothes, or hair use a can of compressed air. The type used to clean computers is best. Turn it upside down and spray a quick squirt to freeze the gum. Then remove it. Be careful not to spray on skin because you could get "frost-bite".
chew the rug
but don't spit it out on the side walk
where someone may step in it
I wouldn't use peanut buttar because then you'll have to clean that out also. I would use ice. Put it in a baggie and set it on the gum. Wait for a little bit and then you should be able to pick the gum off the carpet.
this is in denta? try putting like olive oil on it. Ive never done it, but it sounds like it could work, but it could like stain or something since ive never done that.
